BDE!
He was diagnosed with Cancer about a year ago. He was getting treatment for it whilst maintaining his regular schedule of Shiurim and Shmuzin. He last gave Shiur just over a week ago from his bed at home.
He was from the last remaining Alter Mirrers - that traveled through Russia to Shanghai and onto the States, some eventually to Israel.

I think Ima'le was saying that officially it was cleaned for Bush's visit- but there was a more significant reason Min Hashamayim that the city was cleaned
