I didn't want to get slammed on here for racism or for it to be obvious to people Googling who I was referring to, so I figured I'd use a term Israelis understand, v'hameyvin yavin...

I get what you mean. The people in our locality have an affect on how much we enjoy living there. I left a secular city for this exact reason. I wanted to live somewhere where you feel a certain atmosphere on shabbos and not need to watch every step I take so I wouldn't land myself in dog poop. Everyone has their own needs.

Look into Beitar
Much more expensive(apartments start at 1.3-1.6), but a very nice large chabad community and lots of americans
no arabs in town (but lots of arab workers)
central, no need for car
great weather, city has all amenties and schools, close to Jslm
