A very comfortable bed????

I just bought new mattresses. I have a dust& bedbug/ waterproof casing. Now what to put on top of that? Go directly to a sheet? More layers?

This stuff is not my strong suit. Help me!!!

I put on a mattress protector (kind of like a fitted sheet but slightly padded) before putting on my fitted sheet.

I use a breathable waterproof mattress protector under the fitted sheet. Mattress warranties become invalid if they get stains.

Mattress cover to protect your investment (I'm not sure what your "casing" is; that might be enough).

If you want the mattress to feel softer, you can add a foam topper. Put your mattress cover over the topper.

Goodness. Who knew there's a mesorah about such things? I bought a good comfortable mattress, protected it with a water-and-bedbug-proof zippered cover, and that's all I need or want under the sheets. If a mattress isn't comfortable without an added foam topper, why buy it?

I am only guessing there is one. A few times I dlept places that the beds were just amazingly comfortable. Once on vacation, once at someone with hungarian background. I figured to just ask and see if someone has tips.
