With the rates being so low, we are looking at refinancing to a 15 year mortgage.
How do we go about this to get the lowest rates and less fees? Is it better to use the same bank that we are using now to avoid fees? Any special programs?
Please guide me, thank you!

Thanks for the responses. Is it cheaper to do it yourself because I assume the mortgage broker/banker is taking some $$$

I just called the original banker we had used for our mortgage.
I don't think they put a charge on it, they just make a commission.
It's definitely easier to do it with a broker/banker.

As someone who is in the mortgage business they get paid a commission on the rate it doesn't come out of your pocket. It is 100000% worth it to got through someone who knows what they are doing and can structure your file correctly.
