I’m not a big snood person, I wouldn’t go out in one, but I like to have one to wear around the house sometimes. The one I have is many years old and finally fell apart. But when I look in the stores all I can find are chenille ones. They don’t make that old type anymore? The material seemed more appropriate for summer.. are people actually wearing chenille in this weather?

Here in Monsey, we were chenille's year round.
I see lately that there's a new style scarf that's trending. It's a thin fabric but it's not pre tied.

I just bought a chenille-style but made of different material. Much lighter and cooler than chenille.

Yes I wear those too, I just like to have one snood on hand. Like I said I don’t wear it out, so I don’t care much what’s in fashion. I also am pregnant and gained weight in my face and find that snoods are more flattering for me right now. It’s just so odd that chenille is worn in the summer. I liked the old ones so much better. Wonder why they stopped making them.

I live in Lakewood. I know that’s what people are wearing. It’s just too hot for that honestly.

I have some thin knit snoods (sweater material) and some other type of thin material snood, I don't know what the material is called. The local stores have afew types of snoods.

Look on Etsy for "chemo caps". There are some which look very similar to the thin snoods you describe

Some of them are unlined.
Not as cool as the bandanas, but def. cooler than the chenille material. |
Thanks! I think this may be what I’m looking for. Btw I found them in Heads of Class in Lakewood, but I didn’t like any of the colors they had left.

I don't find the chenille to be too hot, actually... And I wear the lined ones, too (but perhaps that's why it's more bearable since the chenille isn't touching me directly). If it's really warm then I have a few beret style snoods. They're a simple thin knit (again lined), but I find chenille to work fine. I live in humid Florida for the record.

Once it gets hot, I dive into my stash of really thin, cotton tichels. Darker colors and patterned styles can be very thin, without having your hair show through. Lighter colors need to have a liner underneath.

I wear a chenille snood and I have another one with tiny holes in it
Don’t really like the elastic because it’s rubbing against my forehead and over my ears.
I started wetting my bandanas in cool water before I put them on.
I feel cooler this way and since it’s a dark color no one notices that it’s wet or people don’t care to comment.
Pleeeeease carry water wherever you are tho.
