My son had a dirty accident in the car and his car seat smells. How can I clean it?

If the fabric is removable, you can wash it in the machine. If not, spray it with oxi or shout and let it sit a bit. Then scrub it with a bit detergent and water.

Remove the fabric and wash in the machine. I do it all the time. I havent seen a car seat that the fabric is not removable.

Leave it with baking soda overnight. Then vacuum it out.

My son threw up in a car seat once and couldn’t get the smell out after washing the fabric, ended up throwing the whole car seat out. Was gross

Vinegar is also good to take out a smell.

You also have to clean the actual seat, as stuff can leak through the fabric onto the plastic underneath. The fancier the car seat, the harder to clean. More parts, more nooks and crannies, and on one of my seats, straps that are not removable to be washed.

Take a video while you remove the fabric, so you remember how to put it back properly and know how to redo the straps properly. That's the hardest part. Don't skip the video. Then machine the fabric. Only way you'll get it clean. It will be as good as new after.
