I must have a selective memory. I fast every year, I cook before the fast every year ... and I have no clue what I make, or should make.

My husband pointed out that in the past 5 years, at least 3 the fast was on Sunday.
That's my reason why I can't either remember what I make, and I'm sticking to it.

I didn't grow up with a lot of traditional Jewish foods, and sometimes my ignorance shows. So I wanted to check. Thanks.

you are meant to have eggs and ashes last meal beforehand. But earlier on I usually serve something like lentil soup, salmon, and roast potatoes.

Probably salmon and potatoes- no beans or cheese before the fast as they aren’t great for my stomach

Thinking of vegetable barley soup, sushi salad, pasta, cheese pancakes, watermelon (everybody likes something else).

Well Jewish food is a different game altogether.
Kichri (that's how my family says it) isn't Jewish. It's Iraqi by way of India ... But it's a popular Jewish dish and traditional to eat before the fast.

I’m leaning towards quiche and pasta I think.

Red lentil soup, watermelon, dates, Powerade. And something else as main but I didn’t figure that out yet.
Powerade 2-3 days before the fast worked well for me in past years. And weaning off caffeine starting at the beginning of the 3 weeks.
