Is there a difference between making an actual lift or just shipping some things on a boat that has space? Is there an affordable way for me to ship part of my belongings (knowing that in the future I may need/want to ship the rest) at a later date? (if that makes sense)

A partial lift may take longer to get to you because the shipping company has to find someone else whose stuff fits in the container. They don't want to send a container that isn't full. Then, they deliver first to whoever's stuff was put in last. If you have the time, it's not a problem.
We sent one full and one partial lift. (Extenuating circumstances, not a common scenario.)

Send as little as possible as there is very little space and alot of your furniture isn't made for Israeli lifestyle
Send books, toys and dishes
Sell and rebuy as much furniture as you can afford
Don't bring single kids beds or master beds (90 cm for adults), Don't bring coffe tables, armchairs, etc.,
Check if your sukkah will work here before sending
