How do I remove urine smell from a leather sneaker?

Regular sneakers can go in the washing machine. If they're fancy/expensive you may want to wash by hand.

I have never had this problem, but baking soda is my answer for everything.

White vinegar sprayed on a mattress followed by baking soda till dry and then hoovered up works wonders. Maybe the same idea can be applied to sneakers? But I don’t know if there is a risk of ruining them. It’s the vinegar that gets rid of the smell and the baking soda dries it out.
