I swear by the Abberbock/Lazar practice on E2nd Street in FLatbush. Dr. Abberbock is very patient with parents and is considered one of the best diagnosticians around.

I'm not too happy with Dr. Gershkovich. If you want someone who will listen to your concerns, don't go to this office.
I won't go into more detail because it's far from you anyway and you're not likely to choose this office.

I used her as well when we lived in NY and I adore her. She really cares about her patients.

btw, just a note. if you have any negative info about a certain ped it's toeles for the op and for anyone else to read it wold be loshon hora. so maybe the negative info should be given via pm's? just a suggestion.
I would highly highly recommend Dr susan shulman. she is an AMAZING pediatrician and diagnost. if you don't want to 'officially' switch over to her cuz she's far from you (9and 48) you would do well to at least go for a consult with her (she does it all the time) she even takes phone calls in the am before office hours. she has an great bedside manner and I'm jsut really happy that I recently made the switch.
she could probably also recommend someone excellent that is closer to you.
refua shelaima to your babies.

I understand the toeles in not wanting a bad dr, but everyone has different situations. I had a bad experiance with someone my sil swears by. and shes family and she still uses that doc and I dont, so how can u rely on total strangers opinions? every doc has mixed reviews....

Dr. Teitelbaum moved to Flatbush. (E. 7/9? & Ave L) also in Ezra Medical on McDOnald & Ave C
Half his patients moved with him.
He's got great bedside manners, and he helped me with DS' reflux.
But sometimes you just have to use outside sources. I can give you a few ideas.
1) If you know a speech therapist, ask them to see if child has high palette or weak muscle tone. Sometimes that can cause it. In which case, there are exercises and things to do with the child to help.
2) Are they on formula? Sometimes a child's reaction is due to the soy in the formula. Once we put DS onto a milchig formula, the vomiting minimized drastically.
3) Feed less at a time, more often.
4) When his body got used to the Zantac, it no longer worked.
so what we did was, when he would vomit more than usual, we'd put him on it for a day, and then stop until the next time it was excessive vomiting.
5) Start feeding solids as soon as baby is 4 months - food is thicker, so will less likely come back up.
DS just turned 2 yrs. old ka"h and he does still have reflux - but NOTHING compared to when he was born!!!!! Baruch Hashem!!!!!! He now vomits just about 1x in 2 months. When he was 3 weeks old - it was 2-3x for every feeding. And each time looked like more than what he drank! He was losing weight, and we had to have him weighed every other day. Dr. T. suggested he be evaluated by Yeled V'Yalda, where they found that his mouth muscles were weak. He's been getting therapy since (feeding leads into speech - same muscles being used.) And doing great!
Oh. Another point. Most children stop their reflux by 1-2 years.
Now that DS' vomits so rarely, I know when it's reflux, or when it's SICK - bec. when he's sick, he looks pale, and acts like he doesn't feel well. When he has reflux - he'll vomit, and then continue playing and running around as if nothing happened!
Hope I was helpful.
Good Luck.
Any more questions - feel free to PM.

its dr pries, and he is on East 12th and Kings Highway, he is a great amazing dr and big in the pedi department in miamondis, he makes the top doctors list every year. One thing about his office is its run like a ship, no ifs and or buts, and his bedside manner is not the sweet calm type, but he is a great dr and my 3 year old loves him!

I also used him for my son when he had reflux. My son was so bad that zantac was not working and he upped the dose until my son had to be on prevecid. Finally I just told him that I needed a specialist and he said fine. BH I did because I found out that my son's reflux wasn't just bad but very very bad. Then the specialist after 6 months suggested I go to an allergist and I did. BH I did after all that I found out my son had a very severe allergy that caused all of his problems. In the begining I asked Dr. T many times if he thought it could be an allergy and he told me NO many times and I trusted him. While he is nice, he did not handle my son's reflux well at all. I have another friend who he missed a major diagonse also.
I do have a friend who goes to his practice in flatbush now who is happy with him.
