Husband is taking a big licensing test tomorrow for his job. If he passes, I’d like to buy him something nice. I’ll only have about half hour to prepare - can run to the store and get balloons, but what else can I do to show appreciation/excitement for this accomplishment? Thanks

No ideas for a gift, but maybe buy him something for his effort even if he doesn’t pass (hopefully he will pass!).

DH didn't pass a big test the first time around but I did buy him something anyways, to show that I cared and that effort counts.

Not sure what his taste is but-
A custom travel mug
Leather goods like a wallet or belt
Monogrammed briefcase
Comfortable slippers like Uggs
A cashmere sweater
A nice wine
A business card holder/ money clip
A nice cologne

Sometimes men tend to treat the women and kids it forget to buy themselves the basic ( like the men in my life (father and husband)
Therefore I get him a basic item like a new Tallis which he would feel bad to get but will appreciate as a gift.
My mom bought my father a pair of shoes he needed a new pair but every time she advised him to go get one, he said he'd rather spend it on the family...
You can get a voucher to his favourite shop too.

How about a new challah knife for Yom Tov- it is a tradition for some, and supposedly a segula for parnassah- which the license should help as well BE"H

After a long test, a delicious dinner/dessert is the best.

FYI I heard that you don't gift a knife not sure what the reason is. Maybe someone here knows if it is true or just an urban legend.
