I have tried every kind of pacifier for my 1 month old but he cant seem to hold it. he wants it, cries for it, grabs it, sucks it for about a minute or two and then in falls. he cries for it again and I put it back in his mouth. it takes him a while to grab it and when he finally does it falls out after a few minutes and the story starts all over again.
has anyone experienced this and if you have, and found a pacifier that works ... please tell me which one!!

Our ds couldn't keep it in his mouth for a long while, forget being able to hold onto it with his hand!

after a couple of sucks he realizes...hey, nothin' comes out! three of mine didn't use a pacifier at all. We nursed ridiculously frequently for a month or two but then settled into a semi routine (or the novelty wore off)

sometimes you just have to hold it in while they sleep in your arms ... I would never want to be a human pacifier ...

in retrospect, the infant months are over way too quickly anyway

My son kept losing them-they would fall out after a short amount of time. Then at 6 weeks he found his thumb and it's been no pacifiers since.

I have had 3 kid on pacifiers. None of them could keep them in themselves till about 3 months. Totally normal. Usually I hold them in while I try to pacify them or get them to sleep - then I take it out. Newborns don't mind. It's only older babies who want them while they are sleeping.

At one month, he doesn't even know that hand is a part of him, much less be able to control it. And why would he keep the pacifier in his mouth if it's not delivering the goods?

my 5 week old cant hole the pacifer in her mouth either, but I just keep giving it to her hopefully in a few weeks she will get the hang of it.

Nati didn't start taking the pacifier until 6 weeks old.
