My 2 year old needs every week but it’s impossible to do it and I dread it every time. Just wondering what the norm is and any tips to get them to sit still.

Usually every 2 weeks. I sometimes play a video just for the short time I am cutting nails to help distract them.

Every Friday or every other Friday. I gather them all and give them a lolli (shabbos treat)and cut their nails lchvod shabbat. It's a ritual and they love it. Sometimes they'll bring me the clippers just to get a lollipop.
The loli keeps their hand busy while I cut the nails on one hand and then switch.

At the risk of sounding neglectful- I don’t. My toddler is very difficult with that. I gave up long ago. He pulls them off himself as necessary. Hopefully, he’ll grow out of it.

I try for weekly--I do it after baths with some screentime as a distraction.

Every 10 days is perfect but then I don't have a set schedule. I hate that I forget. Every 2 weeks is not often enough. Every week is too much, I feel like it will grow too quickly if I keep cutting each week.

Usually weekly. I can forget every now and then.
Superwify, at one time thats what I did with obe of my kids. It was impossible to get her to sit still enough to do it. She outgrew it soon enough....

The more often you cut it, the more often it needs to be cut.
I do my daughter's fingernails about every 2-3 weeks, and toenails very rarely. She's 4.
When she was a baby everyone kept telling me to cut them because she would occasionally scratch herself but I was too scared to do it and doc said it was fine not to cut it at all the first 6 months or so, and 2 years for toe nails.
(I don't cut my nails every week either, I think it's excessive. I do mani about every 2 weeks or so.)

Cutting nails more often does not make them grow faster.

A week would be perfect. One kid is super good about getting nails cut, so it's just laziness when I don't. The other kid often cries so at least I have an excuse.
I actually cut between once a week to once every two weeks.

About once a week. I let them choose which finger or toe we start with. They like that. Sometimes they hold a toy in their other hand. Sometimes I promise a cookie or lollipop when we’re finished. I count down “clip clip 9 to go...clip clip 8 to go...”
They’re usually pretty good about it.

Agreed. When you keep them shorter, you notice the growth faster. Doesn’t mean they actually grew faster. Same with shaving.
