This is probably a long shot.....but, last fall, before Yomtov, there was a recipe in Ami or Inyan magazine, it was part of a story about a Rebbetzin......she was known for her delicious Yomtov cake - she called it Candy Cake. It was a vanilla base with a topping that included coconut. I made it, got a new pan for it, we loved it....& I can’t find the recipe! 🥴
Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about??

Candy Dandy Coconut Cake

Batter
2 2/3 cup flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup margarine or oil
1 1/3 cup water
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs

Crumbs
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
6 tbsp margarine or oil
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 cup angel flake coconut

Pour batter in 11x15 pan. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

ETA: I don't know why they wrote 2 eggs 2x.

The article was written about rebbetzin Laya kreiswirth a”h whose 2nd yahrtzeit was today, and whom I knew well.

It was mistakenly called candy dandy cake in the magazine but the correct name is dandy candy cake.

The recipe calls for 2 eggs only.

Enjoy

I just baked this cake bec it looked like a really good recipe, however I think the recipe is missing baking powder/soda as it is not rising?? Cake is very flat. Unless it’s supposed to be like that?

This recipe makes no sense.
Has no leavening & no flavoring
