My dh loves this name! But if we have a girl we aren't using it bc I don't like it. I want a Tehilla or Libby (libby is named after his side) We've not got any kids yet named after his side. Just worked out that way. My last daughter was a name of choice.

Lol. I'm a Miriam who's not so cool but I know a few who really are.
These are the cool names I thought were cool when I was growing up but nowadays names aren't categorized by their coolness factor anymore for me
Meira
Tamar
Maya
Tali
Daniella
Hudi (Yehudis)
Yael

Do you mean Hadas?
What kinda name is adas? I mean yes, that's what all the israelis call me since the H is pretty silent in modern hebrew - but still.

Funny I would've thought this kinda thread would be more geared to a forum for high school girls!
As adults how are you all classifying a cool girl as? The queen of the class in school? A cool adult? Genuinely confused lol

Ha. I obviously didn’t mean that one would still categorize anyone as “cool” based off a name, etc. I was referring to the names that stick in our heads now according to the way of understanding the world and the people around us that we all had when we were young.

This is hilarious. My name (and my daughters' names, and one daughter's best friend's name) appears several times on this thread and we are not exactly cool, but all of the names that evoke "cool girl" in my head are on here too!

My favourite girls names are Ayala, Ahuva, Zehava, Aliza. And my daughters name which is Dalia I'd love to name from the above list if we're blessed with another girl iyH but I don't think it's going to happen bc it's our last baby

So interesting, some of these names are old fashioned to me and one makes me think of a little cousin hyd from the 40s

In my experience, personality totally dominates over name. You often have cool girls with "nerdy" names. That said, I would say Chaya or Chayala as a name I associate with cool.

You are right "Hadas."like הדס
[I wrote it in the French way:
Adass.
Because in French when you put an "H"at the beginning it's "Ch"."ח"
Like Chaya is Haya. חיה
So if you write" hadas" you will read it "Chadas"...]
Ruchel correct me if I am wrong

Interesting thread. I'm due with a girl very soon and some of these are on my short list of names;)
Zehava
Ahuva
Aviva
Adina
Naava
Rina
Naama
Hubby doesn't like any of them, and wants to go with a Sarah or Rivka (he'd be willing to consider other names, but wants something more mainstream heimish/current BY type).
I really want a name that will please us both but can't find one. Briefly considered a double name but not really a fan of muti syllables.
This has been on my mind since the 20 week ultrasound and I'm 39 weeks now!
