My daughter has simple mobile. 5gb per month for $28 (it’s actually $30, but when you enroll in auto-pay it gets knocked down).

You save more the longer you activate your plan for, and they have different amounts of data.
I only use the 3 GB plan since I have a lot of wifi access and it's totally fine. Paying $15/month since I paid for a year at $180.
Unlimited talk and text
Using my own phone and it's on T-Mobile network.

Op make sure whatever you end up using it works well in your neighborhood. post location so others can share their experience. A lot of these cheap plans have terrible service.
