I need to make a large amount of mashed potatoes.

Do you think I can blend the cooked potatoes in a food processor with the "S" blade?

Thank you.

I tried it once in the blender- ooh big mistake it turned to glue.

I find that it makes the potatoes gluey - you are better off with a hand mixer which will give you a better result and isn't more difficult. In fact it is harder to transfer to the processor than to mix in a bowl.

I tried one time. They were gummy. Not creamy. Not good.

Definitely not if you're using starchy potatoes. They turn into glue. The more you process, the more gluey they become.

If you don't have one already, a ricer is the very best tool for mashed potatoes. You have to mash the potatoes in one by one which can be time consuming, but one squeeze and they're perfect, no repeated mashing or anything.

Actually, that makes me think: can you make mashed potatoes in a food processor using the fine grater blade? I definitely wouldn't do it with the S blade, they'd turn to glue. But maybe grated?

Either way, I suggest a ricer.
