I'm having alot of little kids at my son's bar mitzvah, (all nieces and nephews but we're a large family bh") I'd like to keep everyone calm and and seated as much as possible. I was thinking to prepare velvet pouch loot bags with candies. Also maybe adding a small toy like snake runic cube. Would it be considered not elegant? Like not appropriate.

It's a great idea. My mom gives treat bags to the kids by all her simcha's.

How will candies keep them calm??
My sister's mother in law brings a bunch of cheap dollar tree type toys for the kids to play with by these events.

Thanks for your replies. I'm trying to figure out what would work best as I'm nervous that so many little kids in a small basement hall will be a disaster.
Are spy pens, scratch arts, a good idea?
Or make a face sticker page?

Even if you do give them little crafts, kids will still be running around. The only way to avoid it is not inviting kids.

Great idea! if you have an older niece (10-11 yr old) who can watch the kids or maybe higher a babysitter- that would be a great help
I would avoid scratch art cuz it makes a mess of black specs and can ruin their clothing.
If you have a room for the kids to play in- bring some games without little pieces or toys- magnatiles, blocks, balls, cars etc..
