I put in Bowl and am using hand beaters. Is that right?
Do I need to add sugar?

Any tips?

When you have peaks that stand up straight. If peaks are stiff you can technically hold the the bowl upside down, and nothing will fall out.

Just fyi, if you over-whip, it will fall. And it does melt after a day in the fridge, so unless you are making it to into something else, don’t make it too far in advance.

If you’re making it in advance add 2 or 3 tablespoons vanilla pudding mix. The starch in there will help stabilize it. Or you can add a couple of tablespoons of icing sugar which also has starch in it and a teaspoon of vanilla extract or other flavor of your choice so it doesn’t get too sweet.
