I just had a brilliant idea. How about organizing a group of women willing to help out women with crying newborns/infants for a period of time so they can get some rest
The women would be screened that they are free of colds/contagious illnesses. I would suggest getting some references since they would be responsible for children. The women needing help would have choice of someone coming to their home or dropping child off.
I know many people have family that help but lots don't.
What do you think? Is this something that would be helpful and of interest vto people?

Add me to the list of volunteers. One night a month only. Willing to have live security camera. I know this sounds crazy, but I would do it for myself.

My baby SCREAMS. I don't think any volunteer would be prepared for it. People are always shocked at how she screams. Then there's the nursing factor that it's hard to know if she's screaming because she's ready for a feeding or for some other reason, so it's not too practical to give her to a stranger for long stretches.

Sometimes babies have acid reflux and I have a friend whose baby was diagnosed with an improperly developed ureter so urine was backing up and causing pain (not exactly sure). Please take your baby to a doctor.

There's an organisation in Israel which does this! It's called Em L'Em. It's designed to halt PPD.
For a year after birth, a volunteer comes for an hour or two every week, and does whatever the mother wants - chat, hold the baby while she naps, does the dishes etc.
They also organise "baby clubs" in each community so moms can get out and have friends and do interesting things.
It's a great idea! I think every community should have this

Not sure why you think I don't bring my baby for regular doctor appointments...

You're so sweet but I'm not in Israel. She doesn't scream all the time, so we're pretty okay. I'm just saying that if a volunteer did hold her, I don't think they would know what to do with her.

And they can take a turn holding the baby between feedings.
I had babies like that too. It's not fun.
