we had this guy stay at our house over the weekend. instead of using the guest bed he said he wanted to sleep on the couch which is in the same room.
I happen to think its icky, for someone to sleep on the couch
I feel like the couch is dirty after that and has germs on it. am I just being obsessive or is it gross for guest to sleep on the couch

Didn't you put a sheet on the sofa? It would make it more comfortable for the guest and would prevent any drool stains.

Why is it different than a bed? Take off the cushions and put a sheet over it.

I hear you. I would also find it gross. I think you should tell him that you prefer he use the bed, as you and dh do not want the couch to be used for sleeping. That's a very reasonable request.

Well, without sheets I agree that it's gross.
It's also bizarre to sleep on the couch when you could just as easily sleep on a bed.

My guess is the boy felt if he slept on a bed he'd have to make it when he got up. Or he didn't want to make extra work for his hostess, making a bed and then having to wash the linens. You think?
I wouldn't let a guest sleep on the couch without a sheet, but when you think about it, unless he sleeps in the buff or has an "incident" of some sort, why is that any worse than sitting on the couch? His caboose is cleaner than his face?
Now I can understand a guest being unwilling to sleep on a couch without a sheet. You wouldn't want to put your face where so many others put their dark side.
