Ok, now that they are eating the chicken and loving it thanks to you all, who has suggestions/recipes for making your own baby food: beef, spinach?

meat loaf - you can "hide" vegies in it - we put in cooked carrots and zucchini but im sure other vegetables would work too. (you can skip the egg in meat loaf if your child is not eating eggs yet)

So make a meatloaf and then puree it? (8months old, no teeth)

I mix spinach with rice cereal for dd, she seems to like it. I throw it in pasta sauce to make dh eat it, so that might work for kiddos too, hehe.

DD loves spaghetti with meat sauce, meatloaf, shepherd's pie, meatballs, basically the usual ground beef stuff. One they are eating beef, there really isn't too much need to make it specially for them unless you salt your food or spice heavily, in which case you can just take out a bit before you do so.
