One of my kids seemed ready at 23 months. Verbal, capable so I did it.
It worked for 2 months. By 25 months, she was done playing the "run to potty, keep pants dry" game. She absolutely refused to go in the potty or toilet, and refused to wear a diaper or pull-up and I had taught her already how to take off her diaper.
That was a disastrous few months with 6-8 accidents a day and me fighting her to keep her diaper on.
We retrained at 3 and 1 month and she was much more savvy about negotiating more stickers, more chocolate chips, but she was also old enough to want the prizes.
