I’m making a bar mitzvah soon. All the halls I call seem to cost so much. What’s the local equivalent of making it in the school auditorium or the JCC?

How much are you looking to spend?
There is a range in town. $450-750 and less depending on size and fancy ness.
Are you self catering?

If your self-catering, you can call around Shul social halls.
I've made brissim with that option, they tend to run $300-$500.

Self catering meaning I can make the food myself, and they’re okay with that?

I don’t know if they would be okay or not if it was self catered, but they def let you bring in a caterer- you can find someone with cheap prices, and it ends up costing much less than if you’d do it in River 978 etc.
