I just whipped up some muffins and as I was putting away the applesauce jar noticed a very small amount of mold on the lid. I already fully prepared the batter and am sure there was no mold in the applesauce. Would you still eat it?
Ra mom - help!

Twist off lids often get moldy. I get it a lot with pasta sauce.
Doesn’t affect the taste of the food at all. Just clean it off.
For the future, you can clean the whole top and rinse the inside of the lid to prevent mold.

I wouldn’t personally. I don’t play around with mold and at the end of the day the risks outweigh the benefits. If I got food poisoning would I really think the muffin was worth it

I did end up just using the batter and so far I'm okay.
It was so little mold - I tiny speck and only on the lid. It was a fresh jar I had just opened about 3 days prior.
