Dear Son,
Tonight, hours after you went to sleep, I packed your lunch. Although it may seem trivial, I want you to know how much thought I put into it. I tried to balance good health and good taste. I carefuly covered the corners of the bread with peanut butter and jelly hoping that you’ll eat every morsel and grow big and strong. As I packed each item, I imagined you eating it tomorrow. I know it sounds silly, but just thinking of the adorable way you devour your food makes my heart swell with pride.
When you eat your lunch tomorrow, you probably won’t be thinking of me or the effort I put into making your lunch each night. That’s normal for a little boy your age. But I might be thinking of you.
Love,
Ima
Dear Father,
Tonight after I go to sleep, You will still be awake, watching the world You created. You provide for my every need, the spiritual ones and the physical ones. You give me what I require in order to grow. You hope that I will appreciate You and seek to develop a relationship with You. In a way that I cannot fathom, Your heart swells with pride at even the most trivial of my successes.
In a few days, I will face You in a way that is special for just this time of year. My tefila won’t be perfect, but You don’t expect that – You understand that’s normal. I will do my best to think of You and I know You will be thinking of me.
Love,
Your daughter

Yes- I'm op.
Still charms me with his cuteness - when I remember to look for it.
And how have I grown in my Father's eyes?...
