My daughter burned her arm in camp as a waitress... Spilled hot soup. I've heard there is a woman in Monsey and possibly in Lakewood who makes a cream for burns to prevent or reduce scarring. Does anyone have info on this? Thanks!

Go to urgent care and get a prescription for silvadene. That’s what burn centers give out. There are scarring creams too, like mederma. Not sure what the point of trying out folk remedies are.

Call your pediatrician and get a prescription of silvadene delivered to you.
If the wound is open or looks infected, you need to see a doctor today.

It doesn't sound from op that this just happened and is in need me emergency care.
The cream is MR wound cream or after care cream. Jewish health food stores should have it. I know in Lakewood, supreme health carries it.

You can try mr creams plus mederma as well.
There is a box with three things to apply as soon as the burn occurs and it works like magic.

If the burn/scarring is not recent, there isn't that much to be done tbh. You can try rubbing in vitamin e daily for a few months. Over time, it should lighten a bit. Is it a raised scar?
