We are travelling to Miami from Israel next week.
How do people heat food over Shabbat in the US? We use a plata. I can't figure out how/where to buy one. We will be in an airbnb.
I don't want to spend too much money, on the other hand we will be there shabbat/chag and I don't want to eat cold food either.
TIA

They have on Amazon.
This one is small, but relatively inexpensive.

Yup. There are also the Israeli style ones (they tend to be much hotter), and one in between (metal top, but similar to the one I posted, techyidco makes one), but they tend to be more expensive and I figured you are just using once or twice.
Eta - if you get one with a knob it has to be taped, covered, or removed before shabbat.

I use the presto griddle for years. Around $32 by Amazon or Walmart. I put a piece of silver foil on it every week and also put it on a shabbos timer. There May be different sizes.

Thank you, that's definitely a reasonable price. Will look it up!

Why do you need to cover the knob?

Does anyone know of a way to cheaply keep water hot for shabbat? For coffee?
Sorry, English isnt my first language and I am not sure how its called.
Here we have a water bar machine with a shabbat setting.

So that you won't change the setting on Shabbat, בשוגג
For hot water, it is called a hot water urn. But the cheapest way to do it, is to buy a small crockpot, fill with water and bring to the boil before shabbat

You can get a hotplate/ griddle in Miami at Target for $25.
Here's a link to the product.

Thank you everyone!! You are the best!!!
Simcha and SafeatLast- are the appliances you just posted safe to leave connected to the electricity for 25 hours?
Or do you all use Shabbat clocks for each appliance?

I never use a timer with them, just leave on.

I use a timer for safety and also who needs extra heat after the meal?
I put a small piece of aluminum foil over the knob
