I have the doona which was amazing and am now looking for another car seat.
I plan to rear face until my baby maxes out iyh. https://www.instagram.com/safe.....hl=en has educated me so much.
I have a bugaboo fox which I really only use on shabbat
During the week my baby is at the sitter so I just carry her out of the doona and bring her to gan
1) is there a need to get a lightweight stroller like uppababy mesa minu/bugaboo ant/bee?
2) the next car seat I get- does it always remain in car and I just pick my baby up from it?
ill spend up to 400$. rear facing and excellent reviews for safety
all advice and ideas welcome tysm!

You want a convertible carseat at this point. Everyone has their preferred brands, (mine is Graco btw) I don't know how different they are though. $200 is on the cheap end for a good convertible- knocks out the britaxs
Personally, I keep a cheap umbrella stroller (summer lite I think) in my car, for random outings, but just carry the baby on my hip from the car to the babysitters door.

I have the Nuna rava convertible car seat and I’m really happy with it. A convertible is a car seat that can be rear or forward facing and used from birth until no longer needed. It stays in the car

Just be aware that every single car seat has to pass the same safety measures.
So it costing more is not better for safety.
Some seats have more cushion/more features like reclining etc

I have the Graco extend 2 fit. I really like it, my son stayed rear facing til he was 3.5 and he's tall.

I recommend the yoyo. It's really great. I do not recommend to get the double, I've heard bad things about it.

I got the joolz aer stroller. It folds and locks speedily and easily with one hand and lightweight like the yoyo. I got car seat adapters that go with the seat on so I have the option of taking the car seat out if I don't want to wake the sleeping baby.

All car seats have to meet the minimum bar for safety, but some just barely pass that and some strongly exceed it. For instance, in US, there is no requirement that car seats provide protection during side impact crashes, and only some car seats have this feature. It is true there are also convenience features that can cost money, so price alone is not an indication of safety.
We use the Nuna Rava for extended rear facing and have been very happy with it. It stays in the car and you pick the kid up and out of it. We were also considering the Britax Boulevard ARB. Any model you choose that has high weight and height limits that can keep your kid rear facing as long as possible will be safer than something you have to turn around when they’re 2 or 3.
