Yup, mine too. Although the school is utilizing the day to do teacher training, so at least that won't be a separate day off...

Nope we have enough days off with the Jewish holidays etc. We have school on all legal holidays and I would be super upset if we did not.

No our school only gives off for Jewish holidays, however we have no school buses running today so transportation is on us!

I wish. My kids are off legal holidays and I am not - it's really a problem every time, especially because my kids are very little (our school starts from age 2)

Northern NJ here. My kids school has a teacher training every year on either Veterans Day or Election Day.

That sounds tough!
Are the staff not Jewish? I don’t understand why they should be off. Between Jewish and nonjewish holidays they must be home a lot!

BY 18th ave was off for in-service day for teachers. The school I work at did that on Tuesday and was open today
