currently renovating new home and dh told contractor to do rounded corners since in my current home the rounded are in better condition vs the edged got all scratched up but I'm afraid it's super out of style. wwyd?

I love the look of rounded. It makes the room seem larger, because it's not broken up into angles. It just makes everything softer and more cozy.
On the other hand, if you're into modern and clean lines, then you want to go with straight edges.

Where are the rounded drywall corners located? I have just a few, and while I don't love the look, they aren't that noticeable since it's not like it's the whole house (all doors are square, and inside corners still regular).

Also if there are little kids rounded corners might just be safer.
One of my siblings bashed her head open on the only sharp corner in our house.

Angled corners are another possibility. I sometimes spec angled corners when traffic patterns push people against a corner or to increase clearances. 45° angles are safer than 90°.
