No need for a poem. Just thank them, and tell them how much she enjoys the gift. Heartfelt prose always beats fake poetry.

she did thank them when she unboxed it :-)
they spent a pretty penny on it and we feel an sweet personal card would do it some justice

I understand. Just have her write a thank you card in plain English. She can write how much she loves the necklace and enjoys wearing it.
I don't know why people think that a rhyme is somehow a nicer way to communicate.

Sweet personal card does not mean a poem. Nor does it mean something written by a stranger. Writing thank you notes is a life skill like any other; children need to learn how to do this themselves just as they need to learn to brush their own teeth. What are you teaching your dd if you have others write her thank-you notes for her?
Your dd doesn't have to write the Great American Novel; all she needs to do is include the following basic elements:
1. Dear name of Person/s who gave her the gift,
2. A basic expression of appreciation, e.g. thank you for the nameofthegift that you gave me for nameofoccasion. Can be straightforward or embellished, e.g. "I was so surprised to open the mailbox and find the nameofgift that you sent me."
3. Something about the item, such as
--how beautiful it is,
--how excited or surprised she was to get it,
--how much she always wanted something like this,
--how well it matches her _____(hair, eyes, new dress, kitten)
--it's her favorite color/brand/style
--how much her friends admire it
--what she plans to do with it e.g. I'm putting the money in my college savings account or I'm going to wear this necklace to my cousin's wedding next week
4. Another appreciative sentence (optional) such as
--how did you know this was just what I wanted
--I'll keep it forever
--I'll think of you every time I use it
5. A second expression of thanks such as
--thanks again
--so thoughtful (or kind, or generous) of you
6. Complimentary close such as
--your niece
--your friend
--love
--sincerely
7. Signature
She's a fourth grader; it should sound like a fourth grader because it was written by one, not like an adult ghostwriting for one.

This. Always. Regardless of age of recipient or value of the gift.

Dear,
A loving note can barely express,
How you have added to my happiness.
Kindness is more than the nice things you do,
Is is who you are, through and through.
Thank you for the beautiful gift!

I really like the poem Chartreuse wrote, but if I was the aunt I'd love to get a card like Lightcyan suggested in a fourth grade handwriting with a fourth grade spelling mistake or two and a learning to write script signature. If you're set on a poem maybe make chartreuse's poem part of something longer with some lightcyan added.
Whatever you do OP, it's such a nachas to have a child with good manners who writes thank you notes isn't it?
