I need to find a gown for my beautiful 12 year-old who is about 5' tall and has a belly.
Anything fitted or with a waist/belt doesn't work so well.
This year's style of flaired/ flowing from the shoulder/ baby doll are perfect for her.
Her Shabbos dresses in this style are a girl's regular size 16 and they look wonderful. Otherwise she needs a 16 plus size.
So, where can I find such a gown? Does this style exist?
Would she need a children's or adult gemach?
I don't want to take her to a children's gemach for her to see all the beautiful lacy frilly gowns if there's nothing for her to even try on. She's already sensitive and this would make her feel awful.
And she definitely is not built like an adult...

Maybe call the Gmachs ahead and ask them about styles. I can tell you that I've always had the opposite issue, where the gowns hung on my DD's and had to be taken in, so I'm wondering who exactly they fit. I would definitely think there should be gowns in her size.
I have a good friend whose DD has had challenges with clothes, and she wore a gown to her son's wedding from Belle and Bow.

Good luck! Ive been having the same problem the opposite way.
I saw heavier girls wearing gowns in bella and bow that were okay.
I ended up getting a gown from schreiber (a free gemach) that I can do whatever I want to. It is costing me 250 in alterations. she has 1 rack of gowns like that. Maybe worth a look. You go by yourself and take gowns that might work, home to try on and bring back at night what you dont want.

Adding, she had a pretty gown that was a very boxy cut, might work for your daughter.

Had success in boutique25 in crown heights. Try women’s sizes 8-10 you may find Something that works
