Are you trying to use up an individual can? Or did you buy in bulk?
I freeze tomato paste by the tablespoon to prevent wasting the rest of a can once opened.

Combine 1 part water and 1 part tomato paste; whisk together to make tomato sauce. Season to your liking and proceed with any tomato sauce recipes (pizza, meatballs, marinara, tomato soup, fish, etc).

I use it in a meat sauce I make. Nothing fancy. Brown meat is one pan. In a pot, fry up some onions and garlic. Add the tomato paste and cook it all together for a good few minutes so it starts to caramelize. Add the drained meat to the pot. Spice as desired. Add a can of regular tomato sauce. Serve with rice or pasta.
