Did not realize we were out of it. DH can pick one up but won't be home until 6ish. Shabbos starts a little before 7. Recipes seem to call for an hour and a half. Is there any shortcut?! We can live without it but it would be really nice to have especially since I decided to make fewer things this week overall...

Preheat the oven to 350 now to get started.
Slice the frozen gefilte loaf. Lay out the slices on a lined cookie sheet and bake uncovered about 20-25 minutes, until cooked through.

Oh that's an interesting thought! Isn't it going to be dry though?

No it comes out good. Check the tops and remove them when they don't feel wet anymore. Just don't let them start to brown.

My kids LOVE this. It gets crispy almost fried tasting.

Do you think covering them will help for people who are more used to the cooked in liquid type?

It will take a bit longer. Hopefully you'll be able to determine when the fish is ready.

OK he actually got here early, it's frozen solid though so no slicing business... I'm going to pop it in the oven and have him take it out shortly before shkiah, that's the 90 minutes referenced in other gefilte fish posts. Oven is already hot from other things. Will have to try this hack another time though.
