Thanks for the suggestions. For some reason non of these names are speaking to me… I technically could choose any name that I like but I want there to be some meaning/connection to something if I’m not naming after anyone.

Our son was born on the 6th of Av. We named his Aryeh after a relative but it was also fitting because the mazal of Av is a lion. Not sure if it's a thing to name after the particular mazal of a month, but worked in our case.

We like Aryeh but it’s an immediate family member’s name

I would say yeshivish light. I don’t think we’d use a modern/Israeli name.
I also have a “mishegas” of not using ch names unless we have a nickname without the ch sound.

Yehuda is compared to a lion but that's not what it means. Aryeh is lion.

We can’t use yehuda or aryeh because they are both names of immediate family members.
