Do you have a child with AD/HD?
Do you want to learn more about Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?

ADAPT will be conducting an AD/HD Parent Support Group for Women.
Sunday, May 11, 8:00 PM
Yeshiva Mikdash Shlomo H.S.
1532 East 10th Brooklyn, NY 11230

Whether your child is in preschool, elementary school or high-school, newly diagnosed or receiving treatment, come meet other parents who deal with the same issues and discuss how to successfully manage AD/HD.

ADAPT : Attention Deficit Awareness for Parents and Teachers, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in the Jewish community. ADAPT coordinates the Brooklyn-Area chapter of CHADD, a national organization providing education, advocacy, and support for AD/HD.

sorry you couldn't come Timeout, we missed you!

It went really well B"H (I am a little biased Smile)

Everyone thinks that they are alone in these difficult situations and when you meet others who are in the same place you feel better. We had some mothers with older children and it was helpful for those with younger children to hear that it does get easier to handle.

We also talked about aspects of AD/HD that are present but not that well known such as diminished personal motivation and executive functioning impairments: how they affect the way individuals with AD/HD respond and behave and what we can do to help in both home and school environments.

The key to success with AD/HD is management and getting advice from others on how to manage really makes things smoother. Our group is very solution-oriented and together we are able to help out each other.

Our next group is June 15th - all are welcome to join us.
