Why doesnt monsey have any Takannah packages for weddings, like lakewood has?
I attended a gorgeous wedding in lakewood and was stunned to hear it was a takannah package.
Why doesnt monsey have these options, with the same pricing as lakewood?
Or do they, and im just not aware?

Not for that pricing. They have Ateres Chaya Sura and Vilchovitz, but the price is nowhere near the Lakewood ones. Great Question.

Ateres Chaya Sara is a takana hall.
Vilchovitz and Ateres Charna have an option of takana.

I have relatives that made beautiful weddings in Valley Terrace and I've heard they are cheaper.

And if they include a badchan, then likely it also includes use of the hall for later hours.

Valley terrace is 16k all inclusive which isn’t bad.
Even among the package weddings in lkwd there are price ranges. Not everything is rock bottom like bais faiga. Many are more.

Maybe im mistaken (if someone knows better please chime in), but I had heard you can do a takanah wedding that looks very nice, in lakewood, for 10k. Someone told me even less, like 8k.
If this isnt true, someone please correct me, just repeating what I had heard

10k is in bais Faigie 5 yrs ago. I know it’s gone up since then but don’t know current prices.
That is the absolute lowest. Other places are all higher.
Wedding ends at 11.

Please explain to me why any chosson and kallah would want to dance past 11. Its been a long grueling day. 12 years ago I couldnt wait to go home and be alone. My sister got married in yeshiva spring valley (valley terrace?) And it was nicely done. Pictures came out nice and music was normal. My parents and his were happy. Proof is that 6 months later their son got married there.

Takanah halls are sponsored. You need someone to take on the finanacial shortfall for the vendors

$16K is alot for tekana. Satmer Monsey tekana is under $10K. I'm almost sure Vilchovitz and Ateres Charna are also around $10K.

Cause in Monsey there are more chassidish weddings taking place than yeshivish weddings. And chassidish weddings include a mitzvah tanz, and include chassidish people who run on chassidish time…
So the music needs to stay longer, the hall stays open longer… most weddings don’t end before 2am. Which I agree is crazy, and no the couples don’t have patience, but that’s how it is.
Monsey does need new wedding halls period; there are barely any dates to be gotten anywhere before next year after Chanukah.
And I think that halls with Takana packages in bp for example provide nicer things and better service than the takana packages you can get in Monsey but that’s a separate story.

And I remember wanting my wedding to go on forever because I was having so much fun BH… to each their own

Lkwd also has issues with wedding dates. And we have lots of halls. Ppl come from all over country and Canada. Bais faiga is very hard to get if you want it. You take whatever open date there is on whatever hall is available.

I would love to see options in monsey, for the litvish crowd, that go lower than 16k of valley terrace.
So many people are happier with takanah packages-theyre still gorgeous! Monsey BH has so many people donating toward one thing or another-I wish they would donate toward a cheap takana hall!
