Just me and DH .Only have a Sunday available. Where can we go to feel like we got away into nature/ the outdoors/ scenic views even if just for a few hours? We could leave really early Sunday morning and return Sunday eve, before the traffic would be ideal.
Ideas anyone??

My favorite nature day trip is Ricketts Glen State Park, but it's a LONG day trip - 3+ hours each way, plus 3-4 hour hiking. But with 19 waterfalls it is AMAZING!
If you want something closer, the Giant Stairs hike off the Palisades is about an hour each way and also quickly gets you into the woods and then down by the Hudson, which is really fun. The hike itself is also about 3-4 hours, though more strenuous than Ricketts GLen.

I'm not the one who mentioned Rail Explorers, but your best bet for food is Country K in Tannersville, about 20 minutes away.
