As long that there is a cartel, you'll get shevache boxes.
Look at places with competition, they have much better boxes.

I don't think there are other options in BP offering delivery besides Torah Temima, who closed registration very quickly.

They had great boxes all summer. The last 2 were indeed nothing major at all. I wonder what happened there.

Some weeks the contents of the boxes were better than others. I do appreciate these boxes and use what we'll eat, and give the rest away. The government is paying for my children to get food for lunch since school is out for the summer. In NYC, school aged kids are entitled to receive a free balanced lunch daily, containing milk, a whole grain, protein, a fruit and a vegetable, and breakfast containing milk, a whole grain and a fruit. Each box is meant to replace breakfast and lunch school meals for up to 4 kids for a week. The people getting paid to put together these boxes are the ones deciding what to put in based on the specific mandates of servings of protein, milk, fruits, grains, and vegetables. They choose the foods based on what will leave them with the most $$$
Hot dogs and other processed meats are obviously less appreciated than healthier, less processed proteins. Same with fried Wonton chips instead of a whole grain bread. When there are crackers and chips instead of healthy grains, or hot dogs and pizza bagels and very few other items, someone didn't put that much effort in ensuring that this will fulfill its purpose of providing balanced lunches to school ages kids.

I actually loved last weeks box. Normal things that I actually use.
This weeks was ok. I'm sharing the bounty. Dh and I are taking milk and juice to work.

I never complained about the boxes. My husband and I are really grateful we get them.
