My family calls it Chulepchkes (I have no clue how to spell it).
It’s the Russian name for it I was told.
What does your family call it? What is the origin of the name?

Just kroat or stuffed cabbage.
Great. Now I'm going to spend the night craving it

Closest pronunciation would be Holishkes although I think my Bubbe had a "p" in there so it might have sounded more like HalUPches.
Russian/Ukrainian (non Jewish) called it Halupkis and Polish (non Jewish) call it Galumki.

Kaposta means cabbage. It's like saying kraut without the gefilta part. Stuffed cabbage is tultit kaposta or something like that. Any Hungarians on imamother?
