I usually shop in a frum store and I never know what the norm is.
Can they measure and fit you properly over your shirt? I lift up but always embarassed that maybe I'm doing it wrong. And too embarassed to ask anyone in real life..

Where I go (in New Square, Fashion Fit) I always lift my shirt. Then I put it down to also see how it looks with a top on. Nothing to be embarrassed by.

I always lift my shirt. I want an accurate measurement.

Lift up in a dressing room with the door closed. Hate it though and started just buying without fitting.

Ok thanks all.
I don't get how it's possible without lifting up for them to adjust etc.
But I still always get all self conscious that maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Same. It's just a body, and all the important parts are covered

Taking off the shirt is just annoying and ruines the wig. I'd have to put it on/off several times during each fitting because I want to see how the bra looks under clothing. I just take out my arms and leave the top around my neck.

Ok so this is actually what I do but always thought that maybe it was funny to do that.

If you are wearing a thin shell, they can fit you with it on.
Obviously if they need to adjust things you will need to pick it up.
