If I do that, do I buy synthetic that dries faster or cotton that feels better?

yes!! I never use a towel. just hang the robe over the bath or shower glass and ooh its so much cozier
I have cotton, I dont think it takes thattt long to dry. hang it on the bathroom door or closet door when ur done
I dont know why anyone would use towels! ilove my robe

I have wonderful robes but they don't take the place of towels. I don't like walking around in a really damp robe after my shower.

I still wrap my hair in a towel. I love using a robe because it's warmer than being partially wrapped in a towel after the shower.

We all have bathrobes & I save towels for mopping up huge messes, wrapping the soup to keep it warm Fri night & giving to guests when they come.

Do I have to spend well over $50 a piece (that's what they cost on Amazon) to get a decent quality?

I really dont think so. I mean if youre looking for high thread count or something maybe. but I got nice ones at a high end linen store in lawrence, for 35 apiece I think, and kid ones, try target they have cute stuff

Mine was about $50 from Lillian Vernon, DH's was less - Hanes from Sears & the kids each have 2 - 1 from Costco ($10 each a few years back) & 1 from my parents when they went to Israel.

Bathrobes is the best idea ever!! I would have never thought of that. Now I guess I need more bathroom hooks. Confused

In my experience only cotton terry robes can replace towels. I think they are great. You can get good adult robes for decent prices at Marshalls/TJMaxx. It's much harder to find kids cotton terry robes. Most kid robes are synthetic, which happen to be really cozy for a robe, but not absorbent to use as a towel.

Just remember that they take up more space in the washing machine.

are you the one who is ordering for the mikva ... robes cannot take the place of a towel ... and they will take longer to dry ... if money is tight I would go for the towels - even though a robe in a mikva is really nice ...
