I hate meal planning and cooking, yet I want to be the wife/mother who always has dinner ready for the family.
I need quick and easy dinner ideas for my husband and me. He doesn’t like sweet mains and he doesn’t like healthy alternatives to unhealthy foods (ie baked shnitzel, cauliflower pizza), but we still like to be somewhat health conscious.
I usually end up doing some variation of chicken and rice, sometimes salmon. We’re getting bored.
Any recommendations? I don’t want to babysit the cooking process

Meatloaf in the oven doesn't need babysitting
So many things you can make with potato, mashed, roasted, etc
Pasta with sause and cheese
Fried fish
If you don't want to watch it Try a slow cooker.

These are my go to suppers
Tuna casserole
TikTok ramen noodles (look it up, so easy and everyone loves it)
Mini pizzas (I make the dough and the kids do the toppings themselves)
Oven chips and hot dogs
Pancakes and cut up veg
A wrap with lettuce, veg, hummus and grilled chicken
Baked shnitzel
Pasta and cheese
Baked beans and pasta (kids favourite!)
Chicken balls and rice

Your kids are good eaters. Mine wouldn’t eat lots of things you serve. You’re lucky… I wish I had it easier. I really feel stuck with suppers and end up making a few different things some nights.

Grilled cutlets, orzo, sauted peppers
Try another variation of baked cutlets, dinner done/between carpools has many. Use a real baking sheet, oil spray to get a better crisp.
Usually do schnitzel with pasta and broccoli
Chicken bottoms with potatoes in 1 pan. Soup? Salad?

Did I miss something - is ground meat not an option? So many yum things with that that are mostly easy too - meatballs in savory sauce, burgers, kebabs, arayes, meat sauce, taco meat, meatloaf...all of those can be made in the oven except meat sauce and taco meat - Google 15 minute meat sauce I think it's from epicurious, yum.

How about sheetpan dinners like
Dark chicken cutlets with potato wedges
Shwarma chicken and onions (serve in pita or lafa with tehina)
Whole boneless chicken cutlets with sweet potato and broccoli
Salmon, baby potatoes and green beans
Meatloaf with cubed sweet potatoes
Fish n chips
Preparing just one pan and sticking it in the oven can make things easier.

What do you put on the dark chicken cutlets and whole boneless chicken cutlets?

Just olive oil lemon and spices.
For the whole boneless chicken cutlets, honey mustard. But OP who doesn't like sweet can use a tomato sauce/soy based sauce or any seasoning she likes.

Sorry for all the questions, how do you cook cutlets with sweet potatoes and broccoli? When I cook them they need to be in longer than cutlets. Is it in separate pans? What temperature and how long do you cook them? I’m really bad at cooking.

Homemade tomato sauce (chop some veggies for texture, blend the rest, add salt and pepper and cook for 10-15 minutes on the stove), topped with cheese and then you dip in toasted bread to eat it.
(If you're a real Israeli, poach some eggs in it for a full shakshuka. But it's also yummy without.)

sheetpan dinners with protein and veggies is the way to go, you can add so much to it and always make extra brown rice, quinoa or any healthy carb on the side for anyone that wants carbs

Zion in BP makes the most delicious fresh lafa daily. They sell them in bags of 2, still warm.
