I am making supper for someone who keeps yoshon. I live out of town, so not many Jewish brand products are necessarily available. I was thinking of making soup & quiche, but looks like the supermarket does not have a Jewish brand pie crust available.
Any ideas for a meal that is:
Dairy
Kid friendly would be a plus
Inexpensive
Very easy
Yoshon
Thank you!

Make a large baked ziti which kids love.
A large tossed salad on the side.
Nice dessert.

Vegetable soup
Baked potatoes, sliced, then pour a white creamy sauce over them, mushroom/spinach/broccoli sauce are all delicious.
Fresh garden salad
Should help you avoid any Yoshon problems no grains

They're having pasta with meat the night before.

Do you have a recipe for the potatoes?

Maybe I could make it a lentil soup.

I don't keep yashan but I think there's a directory of products and which batches are OK re yashan.

They don't need to be Jewish brand products. Unless the person also keeps pas yisrael and you didn't specify?

Make a crustless quiche, or make a crust out of shredded potatoes.
Add risotto.
And a hearty bean soup.

Chicken stir fry and rice
(Ziti would be very hard to find yoshon this late in the season!)
