If you are going out of town for a Simcha and being put up in a neighbors home to sleep over shabbos what type of gift is appropriate? Without knowing their tastes, preferences etc?

Anything that is really useful.
Small towels for netilat yadayim
Washing cup
Good dish towels
Quality oven mitts or oven glove (maybe a bit unusual as a gift but admit it, they really get well used in a house where you cook!)
Chocolate and/or wine (my suggestion)
With purim and pesach coming up I believe they will have use for it.
If you can get something KLP it's always good. Even if they don't eat it for Pesach at least they can eat it later on and they don't have to worry about selling it before YT.
