I have a very short little boy and would like to learn how to hem pants and leggings.

I have basically no sewing skills.

What is the easiest method?

Can you hem leggings/ jeggings, or not because it's a stretchy material?

Do you know the invisible stitch? That's what I do for hems by hand.

Turn the garment inside out. Measure and fold the hem. Put in some sewing pins to hold new measured hem in place. Thread and knot a sewing needle to get started. Start on the folded part of the hem, and then grab just 1 or 2 threads from the pants/skirt that the hem is resting on.

Basically similar to using a safety pin underneath in a way you can't see, where you start sticking in the safety pin thickly for a good grip in a hidden spot, then run it through almost barely on the part of the fabric that's underneath a visible part, so that you won't see the safety pin sticking in the front because you only grabbed a thread or two for the pin to hold onto, instead of going through to the other side.

(I don't fold an extra 1/4 inch before I start folding for the hem, since the items I'm usually hemming are from the store already have a finished hem on the fabric that I can start with and my needle can grab onto.)
