I was nostalgic because of this thread and I started listening to my favorite songs from Rechnitzer Rejects. My favorite song of all time is ‘I was born for peace’.

No one has guessed this. Not a story tape but a music album on tape.

Any other hints? I thought I heard this recently on Naki Radio's English classics station but IIRC it was sung by a more recent singer...

I'll post lyrics to a more popular song on the other tape:

There's a princess who lives in a faraway land
Royal by blood and a scroll in her hand
A scroll in her hand and the flame in her heart...

Anyone remember this one? I was obsessed with it at some point.

I want to know
Why I should care
I want to know
If there's cause to fear
Can it be true
I'm only half a man
I want to know....

Here's an easy but fun one
Hop on the trolley,
You’ll feel so jolly,
Riding the trolley
From Henry street to East broadway.

Detroiter here who hasn't accepted it. It's not rocket science.

True about 613 and shmuel Kunda. Although I don't think my kids know 613. They don't sell them anymore. And who has cd players these days?

Uncle moishy is much more simplistic, both tune wise and lyrics. I never liked it as much, but good for the little ones. I like rebbe Alter!

I would put the marvelous middos machine up there with 613 and Kunda. Abie rottenberg also produced the Golden Crown which was a great album.
I also liked the last MMM, even though it came out just recently.
The songs are fantastic. I love the Patience son and the chessed song.

You gotta have paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatience
Oh you gotta have paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatience!
With a little bit of patience
Life will half its irritations(?)
So why not have a little bit
Yes why not have a little bit
Just why not have a little bit of (long breath)
Patience

I not only have a CD player with cds, I also use tapes! All the ones from when I was a kid.

Did anyone else have the children's story tapes from the Torah tape library? The lubavitch elementary rebbi saying stories at lunch?

Well, I was introduced to it from one of the MIami experience videos. Nathan Stark sang the song. (Today he goes by Nochum Stark.)
This was in the day when the two main soloists were Nathan Stark and Ari Goldwag.

I have since learned that the song was performed years earlier (with slightly different lyrics). I don't know which performance or tape ir was on originally.

Oy I see I really touched a raw nerve here.
Please accept my deepest apologies. There's no excuse for my poor geography knowledge, even if I have hundreds of children's tapes stored in my brain.
I will endeavor to do better.
