I believe his response to the US was "Do you really want to hurt me?"

For a long time, I kept an interview in which they were discussing how no one could understand their lyrics...
Simon le Bon retorted, "Well, T.S. Eliot was obscure too!"
And in my 13 year old eyes, Simon Le Bon could say or do no wrong..."Yes, Simon le Bon is as great as that poet T.S. Eliot...the one who wrote the words to the musical "Cats"
(I wouldn't tackle the Wasteland till college...and by that time, I'd forgotten all about Simon le Bon)

Please tell me you're kidding, and that you know that T.S. Eliot wrote the poem that Cats was based on, but that the musical (lyrics) was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

What do you want me to be kidding about..?
this was my 13 year old mentality...(I am aware Webber based the lyrics on the book of poems by Eliot...hence the giggling emoticon)
My parents were big into pushing me to seem like a prodigy, although as you implicitly observe, I certainly was not...at least I know that now..
Mom bought me the book "Old Possums book of Practical Cats" by Eliot so she could tell everyone I was only 11 and reading T.S. Eliot... rather clever of her but, well.... enough said.
