Does anybody know how to make tomato sauce like the tinned tomato sauces such as Gefen etc. I haven't seen them in the shops here for Pesach. I know its quite basic like tomato puree with a few spices but would like to try to recreate it.

I make a homemade tomato sauce it's not exactly like the tinned ones but tastes delicious and works well for my needs for pesach. I Sautee a couple of onions, peel and dice a bunch of very ripe tomatoes, add a little wine, salt and pepper and let it cook down, keeping a close eye and stirring frequently. When the tomatoes have mostly dissolved, remove from heat and puree with an immersion blender.
